Hi, my name is Jessica, I moved to Seaside in 2020 and love calling this incredible town my home. I am the proud daughter of a school teacher and librarian. I grew up with books being my window the world, my pathway to adventure.

I firmly believe in discussion first. I believe in leading with the facts because the truth matters.  We have given Mr. Dillard every  opportunity to back away from these proposed changes that would restrict access to books, you can see this reflected in the city council meetings over the past 8 months where so many residents turned up to provide testimony opposing these policy changes. 

I founded Freedom to Read Seaside with RJ Marx, the former editor of the Seaside Signal, when it became clear Steve Dillard was not representing his constituents in Seaside. This recall of Councilor Dillard is necessary to safeguard the freedom to read in Seaside.
